Our client is part of an international confederation of aid, development and social justice agencies whose work tackles both the causes and effects of poverty and injustice and responds swiftly to emergencies around the world. They promote advocacy and education for justice in New Zealand and overseas, and play an integral part in this worldwide network of agencies.
You will be part of a team who works to make a difference in the lives of people living in poverty or with injustice.
**Role description**:
You will be responsible for supporting the Chief Executive (CE) with managing their day-to-day role and ensuring the CE always has the correct information and details. You will also be responsible for managing the office, running the reception area, liaising with suppliers, and taking incoming calls.
**Responsibilities will include**:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Chief Executive, managing communications.
- Planning and organising the CE’s diary, meetings and travel.
- Planning and executing organisational events for the CE eg. NGOs’ visits, MPs, partner agencies, training days, lunches, Christmas party etc.
- Responsible for the efficient running of the office, including liaising with suppliers eg. mail/courier delivery, printing, document destruction
- Provides the Board with support through the planning out of governance schedules, coordination of travel, communication and setting up meetings, and preparation and timely distribution of papers/files for Board meetings.
**This role will suit someone with all or some of the following background/experience/qualities**:
- Has previous experience working as a PA/EA or similar
- Excellent writing/typing/review skills
- Experience or exposure working for an NGO would be ideal.
- Previous experience taking minutes and preparing Board papers (preferable)
- Has awareness of Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori.
- Commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
- Comfortable working in an environment with confidential information.
