The Government and Executive Services directorate has a strong focus on integrity, reputation and trust. We lead and support organisational excellence by providing timely, high-quality advice, communications, legal and governance support to Manatū Hauora and to the Ministers and Associate Ministers of Health as our primary customers.
Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
As a Senior Advisor within the Government Services group you will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of communicating dynamic health system changes to key health sector stakeholders, MPs and members of the public. You will help lead and mentor the team, while providing excellent advice to the wider Ministry.
In this reactive role, the ability to manage your own workload and to scale up and down as required is essential. You will be required to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will lead and mentor team members and advise Ministry staff on best practice of government service products.
You will have exposure to the four teams in the group, and at times may be required to work across them: OIA Services, Ministerial Correspondence, Parliamentary Advice and Coordination, and Official Information Advisory.
Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring
- Sound knowledge of the machinery of government and risk management
- Previous experience working in the fields of Ministerial Services / OIA / Government Services.
- Strong analytical and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationship
- Experience leading and influencing people, coaching and mentoring staff
- The capability to quickly establish priorities and meet deadlines in an agile way, think ahead, use initiative and sound judgement and produce written material to a high standard.
