We are seeking an enthusiastic Advisor to join the Ministerial Services team in a permanent role, based in central Wellington.

**About the Role**

The Ministry has a rare opportunity to provide advice on how to significantly strengthen New Zealand's regulatory management system, and what the role of the Ministry and other agencies should be in contributing to that system into the future.

The Advisor, Ministerial Services will aim to deliver high-quality official correspondence services, assisting with the responsibility of maintaining the smooth flow of information within the team. The tasks of the role will include handling ministerial correspondence, managing Official Information Act (OIA) requests, and offering guidance to support clear communication and informed decision making within the Ministry.

The New Zealand government uses regulation to protect communities from harm, and to improve outcomes for its people. Our job is to help improve the overall quality of regulation - and the way it is implemented - by working across the public service with experts in their fields.

The Ministry for Regulation is a newly established small government agency with a big job to do. We are a small group of dedicated professionals, working in a 'can do' environment.

**Salary range**: $79,078 - $104,887, dependent on skill set and experience.

**About you**

We are looking for someone who has:

- Experience working in the public service with the understanding of the machinery of government and processes
- Knowledge of the Official Information Act with experience in drafting responses to OIAs and ministerial correspondence
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of political awareness and sound judgement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship management and collaboration skills
- Demonstrates a proactive and continuous improvement mindset
