Health, Safety and Wellness Coordinator

Put your Health and Safety expertise to work in a NGO focused on supporting vulnerable people in New Zealand. This is a newly established position in our Support Services team that will promote and facilitate Health, Safety and Wellness across St John of God Hauora Trust. The Health, Safety and Wellness Coordinator will support our capability to meet and exceed regulatory compliance across a diverse suite of service delivery and legislative settings. The role will suit a strong communicator with the capability to engage our people in frontline roles as well as across management and leadership teams. This is a part-time role, working 20 hours per week based in Christchurch. The role works in close partnership with the Health and Safety leads, the Risk and Compliance Manager and the Quality and Practice Manager to drive continuous improvement across all our operating procedures and systems. Your strong systems approach and detailed understanding ofHealth and Safety legislation will ensure a robust operation that enhances outcomes for all stakeholders, particularly the people we support. Another key feature of the role is the leadership of a comprehensive wellness programme. Strengthening our culture is a key feature of our Strategic Plan 2021-25, and you will lead the development of a new programme that will enhance the experience and wellbeing of our people. The Support Services team of St John of God Hauora Trust is a collaborative and essential function in enabling our services to thrive.
