About you

You are a proven leader with commercial and corporate acumen experienced in measuring and delivering operational performance in large multi-functional centres. As a strategic innovator, you enjoy consulting with and leading stakeholders to ensure improved contractual and operational outcomes are achieved including reporting, risk and compliance activities.

About the role

The Facilities Manager is responsible for strengthening operational performance and ensuring compliance and business strategies are applied and maintained within the contract.

As the Facilities Manager, you will manage our facilities management service provider in delivering planned, reactive and lifecycle asset maintenance on time and to the highest of standards. You will work alongside a wide range of internal and external industry professionals, including our third-party Industry Partners, representatives of the Department of Corrections, Assistant Directors and their delegated persons, to maximise prisoner employment and opportunities.

In addition, you will manage and guide the various industries on site, including but not limited to Carpentry, Fabrication, Horticulture and Recycling, with the aim of facilitating meaningful rehabilitation for prisoners through technical and vocational skills development.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:
You demonstrate the highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour,
A Bachelor’s degree in Business/Project Management or a Corrections related field or relevant equivalent experience in a similar position,
Preferably have a background in the security, military, policing, corrections, or immigration sector,
Strong leadership skills with the ability to build mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders, particularly within diverse teams in challenging environments,
The ability to lead performance improvement strategies to achieve enhanced contractual and operational outcomes,
The ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines, determine and allocate work priorities under direction,
Have an understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, and the Tiriti o Waitangi and be committed to providing for better outcomes for Māori,
Have the legal right to work in New Zealand (eg. NZ or Aus Citizen, NZ Residency or open work visa with no restrictions).
