Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced and qualified finance professional to join our finance team in the newly created role of Head of Office of the CFO. This role will provide leadership and direction as required to the Finance Senior Leadership Team (SLT) by ensuring information flows appropriately and freely and that SLT members work together to accomplish shared objectives.
The Head of Office of the CFO is responsible for identifying emerging risks for the CFO and escalating as required; ensuring that the finance function's work programme is being progressed; ensuring that required documents are provided to Cabinet, the Minister(s) and relevant Government departments in time and of good quality; and taking responsibility for key relationships within the government sector.
This role manages the Treasury, cash management, overall capital planning and insurance functions; and co-ordinates and assists the CFO to manage work programmes that cover more than one Tier 3 finance function.
Mōu | About you
You will bring your experience and knowledge of working in a large and complex government organisation to this role to support the CFO while we continue to transform the future of health. You've been in senior leadership roles for a minimum of 10 years, and you've had extensive experience in developing and presenting financial information to groups, committees, and Boards.
You're a highly strategic leader who is known for creating robust and lasting processes and keeping a clear focus on long term goals, with a reputation for delivering. In order to succeed you'll need to have strong communication skills, and the ability to communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. You will hold close relationships with The Treasury, Ministry of Health, MBIE, Pharmac and other government agencies.

**You will have**:
- A relevant graduate qualification, or equivalent professional qualificiation
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
- A Chartered Accountant Qualification/Membership from an internationally recognised professional institute
- Proven success in a programme coordination role
- Comprehensive general knowledge of the Health and Disability Sector, its strategic priorities, strengths and weaknesses
- High level of presentation, communication and influencing skills with evidence of creating robust and lasting agreements
