**Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer**
Birkenhead Library is a busy community library serving a diverse community. This is a chance to build on the experience you have already gained in libraries and work in a team to support the Senior Librarian CAYs with planning and delivering services and sessions for the children and youth of our community.
We are looking for a flexible all-rounder with social media and video skills, to join us and contribute to our strong CAYS programme. You will have the opportunity to work closely within our local communities through a range of programmes from children's activities to outreach to schools and early childcare centres. You will also create and deliver fun and exciting learning programmes and initiatives for children and teens, both in person and online.
**He kōrero mōu: About you**
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children and young people in innovative ways.
- Is a self-starter, organised and able to independently design and deliver creative and exciting CAYs programming, displays and resources. You will also work collaboratively and encourage others within the team to contribute.
- Is experienced, knowledgeable and confident in using multiple social media platforms to engage with children and youth online.
- Can work with local community groups to co-design to create and deliver new and exciting CAYs services.
- Has a strong people-focused and empathy-driven work ethic.
- Has a positive attitude and takes pride in your work; you influence others positively.
- Has a flexible and collaborative approach to work, excellent communication and attention to detail.
- Is reliable, adaptable and fosters great relationships within the team and across the local board.
- Enjoys a day-to-day busy library service and the opportunity to connect directly with our patrons, demonstrating excellence in customer service.
**Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer**
This is a permanent part-time position, working 38 hours per week. The current schedule for this position is Sunday to Thursday. Our library is open seven days a week so flexibility around working hours including weekend days is essential. You’ll also have access to a range of fantastic Auckland Council benefits, including discounted Leisure Centre membership and a range of other partnership discounts
