**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**
A fantastic development opportunity has arisen for a Senior Library and Council Services Assistant - Children and Youth Services role in the Kaipātiki Local Board, based at the Glenfield Library.

Glenfield Library is a busy community library serving a diverse community. This is a chance to work to support the Senior Librarian - Children and Youth with planning and delivering services and sessions for the children and youth of our community.

We are looking for a flexible all-rounder to join and contribute to building a strong cohesive team. You will have the opportunity to work closely within our local communities through a range of programmes: from children's activities inside our library to outreach to schools, early childcare centres and the community partners. You will also create and deliver programmes and initiatives that are delivered both in person and online.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**
We are looking for someone who:

- Work will collaboratively with other members of the Kaipātiki Children’s teams.
- Is a self-starter, organised and able to independently design and deliver creative and exciting Children and Youth programmes, create displays and resources.
- Has experience working with children and young people in innovative ways.
- Is curious and interested in the use of multiple social media platforms with the idea of engaging with children and youth online.
- Can work with local community groups to co-design and create new and exciting Children’s and Youth programmes
- Has a passion for community service; is empathy-driven and loves dealing with people.

**Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer**
We have a permanent position, 38 hours per week, currently working at Glenfield Library. Our library is open seven days a week so flexibility around working hours including weekend days is essential.
