Senior Advisor, Employment Programmes

The Jobs and Skills Hubs are an MSD led, no-cost recruitment and training facilitation service to support Aotearoa's construction and infrastructure sectors. The Hubs are conveniently based within communities so people can secure sustainable work close to where they live, and or access training to upskill into the construction and infrastructure space.
Overview of position
The Employment Programmes Group manage the Māori Trades and Training Fund, He Poutama Rangatahi, and the Jobs and Skills Hubs.
We have an incredible opportunity for someone looking for impactful work in the Employment Space, reporting to the Director Employment Programmes.
The Senior Advisor is involved in the design, development and implementation of national strategies and initiatives to support MSD to achieve employment outcomes.
The role will have a particular focus on supporting the Jobs and Skills hubs, with brand management, communications, marketing and promotions. This mahi involves establishing, maintaining and creating a successful digital presence for the hubs that supports the promotion of jobs available, and initiatives and training opportunities developed by the hubs.
**The role will have a focus on**:
- Leading and supporting the development of high-quality strategic advice and analysis
- Leading work programmes on a broad range of issues to deliver government employment initiatives
- Establishment and maintenance of digital platforms like website, and social media channels like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn etc.
- Keeping abreast of changes in social media platforms so hubs remain relevant and maximum reach is achieved
- Providing advice on implications of policies and strategies including trends, risks, and developments, identifying significant issues that may impact on work programmes and delivery
- Extensive experience in strategy and policy development, service design or implementation of projects and initiatives in a complex and demanding environment
**You will have**:
- Extensive understanding of the relevant environment and issues facing the Ministry and the Government
- Excellent communication skills including experience in writing
- Experience and skill in the maintenance of digital platforms and social media channels
- Experience in strategy and policy development, service design or implementation of projects and initiatives in a complex and demanding environment
- Ability to work collaboratively and responsively in both government and non-government settings
- A strong understanding of linkages and commonalities and sector differences between public, private and NGO sectors
- A relevant tertiary qualification or relevant equivalent experience
Position Description
**Salary range**: $99,546.00 - $120,778.00
