The Department of Conservation have recently made some big changes to help our people and operations work better together—so we can achieve the conservation outcomes we’re aiming for.
As part of this, we’ve introduced a new role**:Site Support Officer - Maniapoto.**This position is based in Te Kuiti and is central to ensuring our office and facilities run efficiently and safely. Reporting to the Principal Ranger, Waitomo, the person in this role becomes the go-to person for everything from office management to health and safety checks, helping the team so they can do the mahi out in the field.
The position will be focussed on:
- Supporting the Site Lead to ensure smooth and safe operation of DOC premises, acting as the main site contact for office and facility issues
- Being the go-to person for general office management
- Ensuring DOC pool vehicles at site are fit for purpose and maintained as required (such as services and WOFs etc)
- Support key site health and safety tasks such as safety/fire drills, site inductions, regular checks and ACC safety audits

The salary range for this position is $65,070 - $75,981 (1 FTE) with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
