**Motel Manager**

We are looking for a self-motivated professional with proven management and leadership skills in communication, customer service and staff guidance.

In this position you will be organizing the day-to-day operations of the Motel, ensuring the motel accommodation units are run at maximum occupancy and maintained to a high standard.

Key tasks of the position will include:

- Oversee the running of the monitor and maintain lodging facilities
- Manage and support the administration of all reservations and cancellations
- Assign duties to reception and housekeeping staff, observe and monitor staff ac Set rosters and maintain time records, and resolve staff grievances.
- Oversee day-to-day banking, and ensure that all monies are correct and balanced at the end of every day.
- Maintain records of financial transactions.
- Select and liaise with the suppliers for purchasing and negotiate as required.
- Analyze motel sales levels in planning and implementing changes and improvements.
- Plan and implement effective marketing strategies to maximize room occupancy levels
- Keep up to date with current promotions and pricing, to provide information to guests on request, while maximizing sales opportunities.
- Ensure the overall appearance of the motel is of the highest standard and in proper working order inside and outside.
- Inspect the entire premise for cleanliness and attractive appearance and ensure that they meet our standards.
- Deal with escalated customer complaints and resolve them in an amicable way.
- Monitor and maintain Stock Levels (mainly laundry, cleaning materials, repair, trash, and room supplies),
- Be responsible for security, safety, and evacuation. In cases of emergency, acting as the first point of contact for the staff, guests, and emergency services.
- Take precautions to prevent theft or damage to the companys property. Monitor any suspicious activities.
- Ensure the business is operated in accordance with all local and central government legal requirements including hygiene, health and safety regulation and liquor licensing laws.
- Hold regular meetings with the staff to foster a collaborative culture.
- Keep up to date with tourism in New Zealand and ensure there is sufficient information available for guests to access.
- Assist guests with travel plans by providing suggestions for tourist activities, travel.
