We are looking for an Intermediate to Senior level Application Engineer to join our high-performing team so if you are looking to work for a market leader or drop the tools to become more sales/solution focussed then this is the role for you.

**Key responsibilities of this role include**:

- Develop new business through system design, tenders, machine design, etc.
- Develop new business by building strategic relationships with partner companies such as systems integrators, consultants, educational institutions, etc.
- Continuously develop product knowledge through hands-on, product training (internal and external), documentation, etc.
- Conduct on-site Sales Calls, prospecting, demonstrating, presenting, and providing solutions to achieve the Automation Sales.
- Setup at tradeshows and roadshows
- Facilitate regular training courses to develop sales team and customer skills and abilities.
- Provide OMRON Engineering Service

**Requirements**:

- BS degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience working in a related field.
- Proven experience and understanding of automation products and solutions.
- Proven experience in control system design, programming, and commissioning.
- Competent ability in troubleshooting and fault-finding control system hardware.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well organized with attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate with a range of customers at all levels.
- Self-motivator with high-quality standards.
- Fast learning with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Experience in project management would be a plus.
- Skills in networking theory and experience with serial / ethernet-based industrial protocols such as EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.
- Experience and a passion for vision systems, robotics, and IoT will be highly regarded
- Machine Safety, TUV certification would be highly regarded.
- Experience in C#, VB.NET will be highly regarded.
- Must be either an NZ permanent resident or NZ Citizen
