At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau.

We help shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary. We do this by building relationships and understanding the needs of those who receive our services.

About our group and team

Located in the Auckland region, Senior Support Officers (SSO) report to the Support Manager providing project support to different teams and functions within the Ministry or collaborating with other team members to deliver shared services. The team plays a vital role in contributing to and achieving the Ministry's overall goals.

About this role

Following are the professional skills we are looking for:

- Excellent time management and planning skills to enable you to respond to changing needs and priorities and to ensure deadlines are met
- Excellent attention to detail
- Superb customer service mindset
- Solid written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work closely with team members, managers to help deliver organisational projects efficiently
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite and specially MS Excel (intermediate to advance).
- Previous administration experience is preferred
