We're looking for two talented Process Engineers – one senior and one intermediate – to join our high-performing team at Apex Water.

Please note, this role is full-time, permanent and requires frequent travel to sites.

The successful applicant will:

Senior Process Engineer

• Take ownership of process design and lead the delivery of complex design packages.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to junior engineers.
• Oversee and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams across multiple projects.
• Work closely with management to shape project direction and ensure alignment with client objectives.
• Liaise with construction teams and clients to ensure seamless project delivery from design through to commissioning.
• Demonstrate deep technical knowledge across a range of water and wastewater treatment technologies.
• Lead client consultation and contribute strategically to project scoping, planning, and execution.

Process Engineer

• Support the design and delivery of process engineering packages under guidance from senior engineers.
• Contribute to the preparation of process calculations, modelling, reports, and drawings.
• Work collaboratively across project teams, assisting in coordination with construction and commissioning teams.
• Participate in client meetings and help translate design concepts into practical solutions.
• Develop a growing understanding of water and wastewater processes.
• Gain exposure to the full project lifecycle—from pilot trails and concept through to commissioning—while building technical and project management skills.

We want someone who:

• Holds a degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering.

• Has relevant professional experience:

• Senior Process Engineer: 10–15+ years

• Process Engineer: 3+ years
• Understands the New Zealand Drinking Water Standards and the Drinking Water Quality Assurance Rules.
• Demonstrates excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Can work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Is comfortable working on-site and traveling as needed.
• Is passionate about delivering exceptional results for clients—while enjoying the journey along the way
