Our client:

This is a high-spec engineering business that delivers custom-built processing systems across NZ and beyond. This is a senior role with real technical depth, partnering directly with the Directors, GM and Engineering team to turn complex client challenges into tailored engineered solutions.

You'll lead the full BD cycle from lead generation through to project handover, this is a standalone role with full autonomy and ownership of outcomes.

The role:

This is a long-term opportunity, all about building and owning customer relationships not just responding to inbound enquiries, but proactively identifying opportunities, solving technical problems, and helping clients improve their plant performance with smart engineering solutions.

Projects can range from component upgrades to entire system builds, often involving long lead times and complex stakeholder engagement.

You'll spend your time between existing client management and long-term relationship building, working closely with internal engineers, project managers, and the GM to scope and deliver tailored solutions.

You'll balance strategic planning, quoting/tendering, and face time with key decision makers across NZ and internationally.

The requirements:

  • Tertiary Engineering qualification, BEng Mechanical or similar
  • Proven experience selling capital equipment, technical & engineered solutions
  • Solid understanding of industrial processing systems, or heavy industry capital equipment
  • Ability to manage complex projects and long sales cycles
  • A practical, consultative approach to relationships and problem solving
  • Strong understanding of the NZ industrial and manufacturing market, with the ability to build long-term client partnerships
  • The right to work in a full-time permanent role in NZ
  • The ability to travel both domestically & internationally for work
