**About the Team**:
The Finance Team is responsible for the overall financial management and support processes within Airways, including transaction accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger support to business units, financial IT systems, procurement, property management, capital planning, statutory reporting and management reporting.

**About the Role**:
We have an opportunity for a Financial Accounting Manager to join us on a permanent full-time basis. This role is based in our Auckland office at The Quad (Leonard Isitt Drive, Auckland Airport) which is within walking distance from Woolworths, Chemist Warehouse, Jetts Fitness, cafes, take-away shops, and restaurants.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, this is a key leadership role within Airways Finance, responsible for the integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement of financial accounting operations. This includes statutory reporting, tax and audit compliance, capital and asset accounting, treasury oversight, and end-to-end management of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.

The role leads a high-performing team to deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial outcomes that support Airways’ performance, reputation, and future direction.

**About You**:
Due to the nature of the role and our operations, you'll be comfortable working in a complex, capital-intensive, or regulated environment (e.g. infrastructure, utilities, aviation, or government-owned entities).

You'll also hold exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders, advisors, and auditors.

Additionally, you will have:

- CA/CPA qualified with 8+ years of progressive experience in financial accounting roles, ideally including leadership of both reporting and transactional finance functions.
- Proven track record managing financial close, external audit, and statutory reporting in accordance with NZ GAAP / IFRS.
- Strong working knowledge of internal controls, asset and capital accounting, tax compliance, and treasury operations.
- Experience leading and developing teams across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, with a focus on service quality and efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and lead change across finance systems, processes, and reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- MS Excel skills, knowledge and understanding of accounting systems (we use Dynamics 365 F&O) and processes for reporting purposes.
- Ability to work in a dynamic business environment, influence and collaborate with people internally and externally, show resilience and agility, take ownership and focus on delivering successful business outcomes.
