**Ko tō tūranga - your role**:
The Financial Accounting Lead is an integral role to the wider financial accounting and finance team, leading a team of 5 financial accountants. As team lead the role is focused on supporting the delivery of timely and accurate month end results (month end and statutory reporting) a well as the ongoing development of the financial accountants within the team. With good exposure to commercial finance the role requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage various stakeholders.
**Ko tō mahi - what you’ll do**:
- Support the team to ensure timely and quality month end results
- Input into the quarterly reporting to shareholders
- Lead a team of 5+ Financial Accountants
- Support the team in trouble shooting and issue resolution
- Create an environment to support the ongoing development of financial accountants
- Regular review and investigation of balance sheet reconciliations. Managing risk and
- Actions plans as a result from reviews
Ensure there are “no surprise” audits
- Support and facilitate the audit process
- Partnering with commercial finance to provide best practice accounting advice and governance.
**Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring**:
- Substantial experience working within either a large corporate or consulting/audit environment
- Strong financial reporting, technical accounting and Excel experience
- Solid interpersonal communication, negotiation and stakeholder management ability
- Experience providing value to the businesses by advising on technical accounting matters
- SAP experience is regarded, but not necessary.
