Emerging Technologies - Technical and Event Coordinator About the role
We are looking for a Technical and Event Coordinator to coordinate the work of the Emerging Technologies team, supporting the Director and Deputy Director of Emerging Technologies and coordinate events that will communicate outputs promoting programme outcomes.
- Act as a scheduler and coordinator of all elements of the Emerging Technologies Unit (ETU)
- Support Director and Deputy Director Emerging Technologies with data management, diary coordination, meeting recording, internal and external communication products and event management.
- Assist the Project Coordinators in their support to the certification teams, providing continuity, corporate knowledge and insight. This is where your coordination skills will need to shine in collaborating, cooperating and coordin

This is a role that will require the ability to manage a multitude of diverse tasks while tracking programme progress and reporting as directed. It will require astute administrative skills that are supported by technical savvy. It will also require strong diplomacy and communication skills, both written and oral, to drive positive engagement internally and externally with regulatory staff and innovators/operators.
You will require baseline knowledge of how technically based business cases and system ‘use cases’ are constructed and pitched, to contribute to team analysis of proposals maturity. They will need to be operationally savvy about systems such as electronic conspicuity devices, detect and avoid, command and control links etc and how these contribute to system safety.
- Support an integrated approach to delivering Emerging Technology Programme outputs in the achievement of programme outcomes
- Assist reporting on the important elements of the programme, including risks and issues
- Help build bridges and understanding between the emerging aviation technologies sector and the regulator

The Civil Aviation Authority National Office is usually located opposite the Wellington railway station. As a result of remedial earthquake strengthening work taking place, our National office staff are currently working remotely and in temporary offices in central Wellington.,
