Te tūranga - The role
The Principal Advisor, Emerging Technologies is a leadership role reporting to the Director Digital Solutions/CTO.
The Principal Advisor is accountable for advising on emerging technologies and how they might be used by RBNZ. An initial priority will be helping us take forward our work on digital cash (central bank digital currency)
As a member of the Digital Solutions Leadership Team you will contribute to the setting of IT priorities for Te Pūtea Matua, and be a key point of contact across the Bank for the services that Digital Solutions provides. Providing strategic thought-leadership and delivery leadership.
Ō pūkenga - About you

**To be successful in one of these roles you'll have**:

- At least 10 years' experience in information technology industry ideally with some of that experience from within banking/financial services sector
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is desirable (i.e. Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering)
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, with proven experience in developing collaborative relationships at all levels of an organisation
- In-depth understanding of central banking technologies, including payments systems.
- Experience in assessing emerging technologies and taking them from idea to implementation.
- Ability to influence effectively at all levels of the organisation. 'Results and outcomes oriented, with a focus on creating business value.
