We are looking for a highly skilled and engaged Principal Adviser to join the Finance and Commercial Operations Group, which ensures the business has the underpinning financial systems, physical infrastructure, processes and reporting in place to support Te Pūtea Matua's direction and ensure the Bank's operations are effective, efficient and represent value for money. Te tūranga - The role The Principal Adviser provides broad financial expertise, supporting the Director of Finance/CFO and Finance capabilities across Te Pūtea Matua. The Principal Adviser is responsible for strategic financial insights and recommendations, providing senior leadership capability within Finance to connect people, systems and financial operations, supporting the integrity of core operational finance and treasury accounting capabilities and providing insightful strategically focused financial expertise to meet the complex needs of Te Pūtea Matua's stakeholders. Ō pūkenga - About you To be successful in one of these roles you'll have:

- Significant proven leadership experience at a senior level in a major financial institution, supervisory authority or Central Bank, with demonstrable understanding of control frameworks and responsibility for change management within a major functional area.
- Strong academic qualifications in financial disciplines, with relevant professional experience in related fields.
- Proven strategic thinking and problem-solving skills (including the integration of financial and public policy perspectives), and effective management of a diverse work programme and delivery of large projects.
- Strong people and leadership skills, including ability to lead innovation and change through collaboration and teamwork.
- Strong influencing, communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to identify key audiences and implement strategies to achieve required outcomes.
- Be familiar with the practice and theory of monetary policy and the New Zealand framework, including a comprehensive understanding of the workings of the Banks' financial dynamics.
- A high level of credibility and integrity.
