The annual Budget is the key process for the Government to invest in improving the wellbeing of New Zealanders. The Budget Management Team at the Treasury has the primary responsibility of coordinating this process, including working closely with the Minister of Finance and the Minister's office to develop the overall communications and engagement strategy.

**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role**

We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Principal Communications Advisor to work with the us on the following:

- Develop and lead the Budget communications strategy, in conjunction with Treasury teams and the Minister of Finance's office
- Develop fit for purpose communications products for both internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain and lead engagement with our stakeholder network, including media

**Ō pūmanawa | About You**

We are seeking someone with significant experience developing and implementing external and internal communications and engagement strategies. Experience supporting Ministers or senior public sector leaders is an advantage, as is an understanding of the Budget and the economy. You will also bring:

- Excellent oral and written and presentation communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
- The ability to deal confidently and professionally with news media
- Strong problem-solving skills and creativity
