We are looking for a seasoned Principal Advisor who has broad experience advising senior leaders. You will be proactive, able to juggle competing demands, able to build and maintain excellent working relationships, analyse data and information and write succinctly. You will remain across key issues, risks and provide strategic advice and support as required. You will lead special projects as required.
You will report to the Director, Chief District Court Judges' Office / Te Whare o Ngā Kaihautū Waka o te Kōti-ā-Rohe o Aotearoa.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Leading the development of strategic documents and advice
- Providing timely and high-quality advice to the Principal Family Court Judge and Director as required
- Proactively identifying opportunities, risks and issues to the Principal Family Court Judge and Director as required
- Building relationships and proactively developing networks across the Office and the Ministry of Justice, and family justice system.
- You will contribute to aligning work programs and activities, key strategic programmes, justice sector partners priorities and the overall work of the Chief District Court Judges Chambers'.

He pūkenga tou/Skills and Experience
To be successful in the role you will have experience or skills in:

- Providing strategic advice at a senior or principal level in a public sector organization or other experience in a relevant field
- A law degree is desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of the Family Court is advantageous
- Experience leading complex projects or initiatives to successful completion
- Providing intellectual and professional leadership across and within organizations, including experience mentoring and developing junior staff and peers
- Experience working with senior managers and/or the judiciary
- Experience working in a high-paced environment

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $124,397 and $173,973 based on skills and experience.
