We have an exciting opportunity for a strategic and commercially-minded National Network Development Manager to join our team in Auckland, New Zealand. Reporting to the General Manager, New Zealand, this hands-on role is pivotal in shaping and strengthening our dealer network to ensure alignment with Inchcape’s operational and growth objectives.
You will lead the implementation of network-wide strategies and national policies, including new dealer appointments, change of ownerships, refurbishments, and onboarding programs. Acting as a key liaison between central functions and the dealer network, you will ensure initiatives are delivered in line with business plans and brand representation standards.
This role is responsible for analysing dealer performance, driving business development initiatives and promoting continuous improvement across sales, service, and customer experience. It requires an experienced operator with strong commercial acumen, relationship management skills, and a deep understanding of the retail automotive environment.
**What you’ll do**:
- Drive network strategy and planning to ensure capacity meets Sales and Aftersales business goals.
- Conduct dealership reviews and field visits, supporting dealer growth and adherence to Inchcape policies.
- Monitor and evaluate dealer performance, providing support and developing action plans for underperformance.
- Oversee the implementation of brand programs, sales targets, and compliance frameworks.
- Manage and roll out dealer corporate identities (CI),, appointments, and ownership transitions.
- Oversee onboarding programs and ensure dealers are aligned with Inchcape’s operational standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, training, customer service, and other departments to drive business performance.
- Ensure compliance with the Franchising Code and manage all related documentation and reporting.
- Champion customer satisfaction initiatives and lead CSI improvement planning across the dealer network.
**About you**
You are a dynamic and commercially savvy professional with experience in automotive retail and dealer operations. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for lifting performance across networks. With strong communication and relationship-building skills, you enjoy working collaboratively and influencing outcomes at all levels.
You will also bring:
- Experience in automotive sales or network development roles.
- A tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related commercial discipline is advantageous.
- Proven ability to analyse financial statements and dealer performance.
- Deep understanding of franchising, dealership operations, and compliance requirements.
- Strong influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Experience working across complex, multi-site projects with competing priorities.
- Willingness and ability to travel regionally across New Zealand as required.
