Auckland Racking & Shelving Solutions, established in 2003, specialises in providing high-quality pallet racking and shelving systems tailored to the needs of New Zealand's warehousing and storage sectors. Our services encompass the supply and installation of both new and second-hand racking, dismantling and buy-back options. About the role
Reporting to the leadership team, you'll be responsible for developing and executing a commercial business development strategy that delivers revenue growth and strengthens Auckland Racking's position in the warehouse storage market.
You'll work closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams to identify opportunities, shape solutions and see deals through from lead to close.
Key focus areas include:
- Developing and implementing a national Commercial Business Development Strategy
- Identifying and researching new business opportunities and markets
- Generating and qualifying new leads
- Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships
- Leading tender responses, pricing discussions, negotiations and closing deals
- Analysing market trends and competitors to inform strategy
- Managing and reporting on the sales pipeline and full sales cycle
About you
You're a commercially savvy relationship-builder who enjoys being out in the market, spotting opportunities and making things happen. You're as comfortable in a warehouse as you are in the boardroom, and you can translate customer needs into practical, value-adding solutions.
We're looking for:
- Proven experience in Business Development / Sales (B2B), ideally in industrial, construction, logistics or related sectors
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – able to build trust quickly at all levels
- Strategic thinking and planning ability – you can see the big picture and design a path to get there
- Negotiation and sales skills, with a track record of winning and retaining business
- Analytical and problem-solving capability – comfortable working with data, trends and commercial drivers
- Solid project management skills – able to juggle multiple opportunities and deliver on time
- Knowledge of warehousing, storage, racking/shelving or similar industries (or a strong appetite to learn)
