Our clients, Vynco Industries, are a leading distributor of electrical components both within New Zealand and abroad. They are looking for a Purchasing Administrator to join their purchasing team in Auckland. The Purchasing Department is a centralised department that supports all business units within Vynco.
This is a step into the world of Purchasing and will expose you to the management of stock levels, forecasting, interfacing with suppliers, and analysis of freight and customer demand.
In the role of Purchasing Administrator your day to day duties will include:
- Loading and maintaining product database, including pricing, descriptions stock levels etc
- Creating, expediting and updating of purchase orders
- Stock level control
- Dealing with suppliers and freight forwarders
- Customer service
- Administration support
For you to be effective in this role, you will have/be:
- A keen interest in purchasing and logistics
- Knowledge of accounting functions would be highly regarded but not essential
- A positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Good excel and system skills
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills to manage a busy workload
- Attention to detail
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with sensitive commercial or personal information
