Wellington City, New Zealand Datacom Full time

Our Why
Datacom works with organisations and communities across Australia and New Zealand to make a difference in people’s lives and help organisations use the power of tech to innovate and grow.
About the Role (your why)
Step into a role where your leadership can truly shape outcomes. As Director - Customer Delivery team, you’ll be the driving force behind delivery success for a portfolio of key customer accounts. You’ll be the go-to leader, bringing together Datacom’s expertise and high-performing service teams to deliver exceptional results, prioritise what matters most, and keep our customers’ services running at peak performance.
This is a dynamic role that blends delivery excellence with a passion for customer success and innovative thinking. You’ll also have the opportunity to take ownership of a strategic capability within our ITO and Managed Services space — influencing how we deliver tangible value to some of the largest enterprise organisations in Australia and New Zealand.
What you’ll do
**In this role, you will**:

- Lead customer success and delivery performance across a range of major accounts.
- Inspire and coordinate cross-functional service delivery teams to achieve outstanding results.
- Drive operational excellence with a sharp eye on delivering value for customers and shareholders alike.
- Foster a culture that puts customers first and embraces innovation in day-to-day operations.
- Take ownership of strategic capabilities across ITO and Managed Services.
- Build trusted relationships with executives and key decision-makers.
- Mentor and empower large, multi-skilled teams of 350+ people, helping them reach their potential.

At Datacom, we adapt quickly to evolving customer needs, new technologies, and shifting priorities. Your role will give you the chance to grow, take on fresh challenges, and help shape the future of our delivery approach.
What you’ll bring
**Required experience**:

- 15+ years in operational or general management, delivering complex transformations, driving efficiencies, and enabling technology adoption.
- 10+ years’ relevant industry experience, including forging strong executive customer relationships.
- Proven skills in managing technical capabilities across organisations with established processes and frameworks.
- Executive leadership experience with large teams (350+ people).
- Expertise in strategic planning, setting objectives, and driving successful implementation.
- Experience managing large P&L portfolios — including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Strong commercial acumen, financial knowhow, and a solid understanding of IT infrastructure.

**Nice to have**:

- Master of Business Administration.
- Project Management certification.
- ITIL Foundation or higher certification.
- A track record of meeting or exceeding business performance targets.
- Experience presenting to and reporting at board level.
- Familiarity with vendor products in relevant technology domains.
