Join our Transport Advisory team in Auckland and help shape the future of transport in New Zealand, and beyond.

You will be part of a team that responds to complex challenges such as climate change, integrated land use planning, road and network safety, mode shift, and evaluating land-use and wider economic benefits of transport projects in Business Cases.

- Shape our communities across New Zealand, providing sustainable transport planning and in particular transport modelling consultancy services

**Te kāinga rua | The Opportunity**

Get involved with developing the urban street scape to enable active modes and public transport, improve safety and personal security, enhance connectivity, and make real improvements for our people and communities.

We lead projects of all sizes for a diverse group of clients and work as an integrated team of over 80 transport planners, traffic engineers, road safety, transport modelers, ITS and modes experts operating from Beca locations throughout New Zealand and Australia.

In this role, you will have plenty of scope for success with wide client exposure and working with our technical experts, providing you with extensive career and professional development opportunities.

Overall, you can expect to get involved with projects that will require you to:

- Plan, design and implement transport projects
- Analyse data and information, and compile analysed data and information into reports and proposals, as they relate to transport planning and engineering

Aligned with the level of the role, we envision that the base salary component will be in the region of NZ$70,000 - NZ$85,000, depending on skills and experience. The role is full time and permanent.

**Ko wai koe | About you**

Our transport planners come from a broad range of backgrounds and professions however to be successful in this role, you will have 2 to 5 years’ experience working in the transport planning with medium to large scale projects, ideally in a engineering consulting environment. In addition, a tertiary qualification in civil engineering, science with a physical geography specialty, or in transport planning related disciplines is required.

You will be a people person, creating the environment to express, understand and work with very different viewpoints. You will enjoy the challenge of working collaboratively with clients, with the ability to contribute to discussions to enable project delivery. You will be calm, comfortable with ambiguity and differences, yet excited by the role you will play in working with people to shape communities through transport planning and modelling projects. This position requires excellent communication and writing skills, and a broad understanding of how local and central government operates.
