Christchurch Sales Manager

For over 125 years, T&G Fresh has nourished generations of Kiwis with fresh fruit and vegetables. We grow, pack, market, sell, distribute, import and export fresh produce from our own orchards and farms, as well as from over 1,200 Kiwi growers.
**The Opportunity**:
This is an exciting role in the fast-paced world of fresh produce, where no two days are the same. As our Sales Manager, you will lead a customer-centric sales team, ensuring sales strategies are executed effectively and driving sustainable, profitable growth. You will manage relationships with key accounts, including supermarkets, foodservice providers, and independent retailers, as well as third-party growers. Your role will be crucial in enhancing our market presence, increasing revenue, and optimising sales operations within our Christchurch network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement sales plans across all product and service groups to maximise revenue and market share.
- Strengthen existing partnerships and cultivate new business opportunities with key customers and suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with operations and transport teams to ensure seamless supply chain efficiency and exceptional customer service.
- Monitor sales performance, ensuring targets are met while managing budgets, margins, and reporting.
- Identify new opportunities, leverage data insights, and drive initiatives that position our brands as market leaders.
- Help procure produce for the branch with our own and third party growing partners.
**What We’re Looking For**:
We’re looking for a strong leader, with the ability to get the best out of others, driving a culture of high-performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. You’ll also bring:
- Proven experience in sales leadership, ideally within FMCG or fresh produce; however, this is not essential.
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels.
- A strategic thinker who can translate data into actionable business strategies.
- Commercial acumen with a focus on driving revenue growth and profitability.
- Experience working with key supermarket chains, foodservice providers, and independent retailers would be advantageous.
- People leadership skills, with a track record of building engaged, collaborative, high-performing teams.
