**About Connetics**

With our head office based in Christchurch and another depot in Cromwell and Tawa, we’re responsible for constructing and maintaining overhead and underground lines and equipment across these locations. Providing such a critical service is no easy task and we know that to be the best, our people need to be connected, safe, and involved.

**About the roles**

Following a recent internal movement and growth in the team, we have two opportunities to join our Civil team in a Leading Hand position. One of the positions is leading our Cable Hauling crew, the other is leading a team that are responsible for delivering Work Packs (work packs are jobs that involve multiple dig ups/back fills for boundary box installations, one work pack could include 50-100 excavations).

Leading Hands at Connetics are integral to coordinating crews on site, liaising with stakeholders (such as Supervisors, Project Managers, sub-contractors), as well as holding regular 1:1 conversations with their team members to ensure an inclusive and supportive work environment.

If you have experience in civil construction and/or working around underground utilities and services, on-site leadership, and have a desire to grow, this could be an exciting change for you.

**About you**:
You will be someone who has worked in a civil/underground role for at least 3 years and fosters a positive team environment. You know how to motivate your team to get the best out of them and you welcome input from your colleagues to ensure the best outcomes are achieved day to day. You are approachable and an active problem solver, you enjoy engaging with people and supporting the growth of your teammates.

**Required skills and experience**:

- Current and valid Class 2 drivers’ licence - minimum
- On-site leadership experience
- Ability to coordinate multiple work parties (i.e. sub-contractors plus direct team)
- Experience in industry and related regulations
- Basic spreadsheeting and word processing skills

Additional requirements for Cable Hauling role:

- Must have experience operating winches and loading cable carriers.
- Must be able to read cable lay/schematic drawings and plans.
