The Senior Front-End Design System Engineer has a passion for building modern front-end solutions using industry best practices and the latest front-end technologies to shape the future of our Design System You will be delivering modern Design System components that are performant, accessible, and responsive, by default. You will work in a modern Component-driven Driven Development environment with a multi-disciplinary team to produce consistent, high-quality, engineering artefacts alongside matching design elements. This allows the Design System Team to unlock high-efficiency workflows for our internal consumers.

**What you'll get to do**:

- Be part of the team that defines how the organisation engages with our Design System.
- Help software engineering teams create high-quality software through Design System onboarding, training, and adoption support
- Consistent collaboration with Design Team designers to explore options, define requirements and resolve ambiguities.
- Strong awareness of the React ecosystem’s current and emerging patterns, practises, and tooling.
- Produce clean, consistent and well-organised code, with automation & testing.
- Delivery of highly accessible, performant, and responsive React components.
- Contribute towards continuous improvement in the team’s processes, practices and products.
- Mentor and coach other engineers who are new to the industry or company.

**What you'll bring**:

- Proven track record in delivering and maintaining quality user experiences across different form factors (desktop, mobile, tablet).
- Strong experience in front-end technologies (React, CSS/CSS-in-JS, semantic HTML, TypeScript, NodeJS) and concerns (state management, performance, accessibility, responsive design).
- Strong understanding of React compositional patterns and component design techniques.
- Experience with common front-end tools for building and testing (e.g., Webpack/Vite/Rollup, Jest/Vitest, React Testing Library, Storybook, Cypress/Playwright).
- Effective communication skills. Translate complex UI interaction, usage scenarios and processes into clear and concise language and requirements.
- Awareness of concerns such as pipelines, continuous integration, automated testing, design tooling (Figma or similar) and infrastructure requirements.
- Openness to receiving and giving feedback in a safe and inclusive work environment.
