ABOUT THE ROLE: CAE is looking for a dynamic Senior Software Engineer within our Civil Flight Services division that can work up and down the technical solution. Someone who can hit the ground running with the existing team on complex airline problems. CAE work in a complex space delivering aircraft, crew and day of operations tools to airlines in a SaaS model. Our products manage millions of commercial flights every year and that number is growing fast You enjoy building products and platforms that are mission critical, getting into the detail, being challenged and the process of building great software. WHAT YOU’LL DO: - Help lead the development effort within the team - Actively work alongside the team to embed software best practices and processes, ultimately providing value to the team, customers and CAE. - Design, develop and deploy technical solutions that meet or exceed business and technical requirements supporting our strategic goals. - Contribute to technical design discussions with architecture, SME’s, and customers. - Maintain clear and regular communication with internal and external stakeholders. - Coach and mentor other engineers through code reviews, lunch time sessions and watercooler conversations. - Work with other engineering team members and product teams to define product engineering goals and objectives. ABOUT YOU: Qualifications and Experience - Computer Science or Software Engineering degree. - At least 7 years’ work experience as a developer using C# - Commercial experience with JavaScript (React, Angular or similar) web and mobile frameworks. - Experience leading scrum sized delivery team. - Experience leading technical design within and across teams. - Experience working in an agile delivery environment. - 3 year’s experience deploying to Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms. **Skills**: - Excellent C# - Webservices (Web API) and Microservices - Strong knowledge of.NET Framework and design patterns. - Strong SQL Server. - Experience with unit test frameworks, test automation, and desire to take responsibility for code quality. - A strong desire to innovate, experiment and make positive change. - High level of problem-solving capability and pragmatism. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
