About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and community-focused Community Liaison to strengthen relationships across Wellington and enhance awareness of our services. This role is key to ensuring Wellington Free Ambulance remains well-recognised and understood within the community.
You will be part of the Fundraising & Communications team with strong collaboration with our Event Medical Services, and The Lloyd Morrison Foundation Heartbeat Programme to ensure a professional and consistent community engagement approach, enhancing our public profile across our region. The priority of this role is to meet the growing demand for skilled and trained representatives at community events - this could involve teaching CPR, showing people through an ambulance or presenting on the work and role of WFA in our community. Your audience will range from schools to community groups, to businesses and all things in-between
You’ll play a vital role in identifying new opportunities for Wellington Free Ambulance to engage with our region and let our communities know more about us and how they can support our mahi. This role will enhance and elevate our brand and reputation and be an ambassador for all of our services that we provide.

Wellington Free Ambulance’s vision is to be a trusted and reliable ambulance service that provides excellence in emergency response and connected services to move our communities to better health.
We’re the only emergency ambulance service for Greater Wellington and Wairarapa and proud of the place we hold in our communities, and the high-quality care that our people deliver every day. As well as providing emergency ambulance services, Wellington Free Ambulance also provides a Patient Transfer Service that transports patients to and from scheduled healthcare appointments, a Clinical Communications Centre answering 111 calls, and Event Medical support to a huge number of community, sporting and festival events. We also teach our communities lifesaving CPR skills through The Lloyd Morrison Foundation Heartbeat Programme.
Wellington Free Ambulance has been described as having a boutique feel due to the specific region we serve. Our region covers an area from Cook Strait in the south to just north of Waikanae around Peka Peka on the Kāpiti Coast. In the Wairarapa, our area goes as far north as Mt Bruce. In total, around 500,000 people call our region home. Thanks to our boutique feel, when you join you become part of our whānau and really do make a huge impact on our communities

A strong and confident communicator, who enjoys public speaking to a range of audiences, you will also have excellent written communication skills.
Experienced in event management and facilitation of groups in a training capacity
Highly detail oriented, with strong organisational and planning skills.
A team player who thrives in collaborative environments.
Customer service-focused, with outstanding interpersonal skills.
Confident using a range of technology to support your work.
Skilled at building and maintaining effective relationships, both internally and externally.
