**About the role**
As the Strategic Sourcing Manager: Digital Commercial and Licensing; you will develop both strategic and tactical strategies to ensure the successful procurement, execution, management, and delivery of obligations to enhance the Digital and Technology function within Vector.

You’ll be working closely with a wide range of technology professionals including senior and executive management stakeholders. You will bring a high-level of experience in negotiating and managing multi-million-dollar digital technology supplier agreements. You understand future demand requirements and are able to identify and support the commercial initiatives and strategies to deliver:

- All vendor software licensing consumed across Vector.
- Outcomes that align with the Technology and Transformation plan through the selection of the best fit suppliers, products, solutions, and services.
- Commercially and contractually sound outcomes for the Technology, Business and Transformation functions.
- Supplier relationships that best meet the needs of Vector and that enable key business stakeholders to meet their agreed business objectives.

Key to this role is having an excellent awareness of market trends within the technology industry to be able to recommend strategies that will be of benefit to Vector.

**Who we are looking for**

You have solid operational management and leadership skills and have a good working knowledge of finance and/or accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, financial accounting and compliance risk management. You must have demonstrable and strong negotiation skills with a deep understanding of software licensing, having previous experience working on large commercial deals within an IT environment.
You are someone who lives and breaths the negotiation of and closing out contracts with ICT service providers.

You also have:

- Industry knowledge in terms of broad industry dynamics, but also the internal knowledge and “language of the business”
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce complex reports and recommendations
- An excellent knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles
- A strategic mindset coupled with an excellent problem-solving ability
- A technology & operational focus
- Change management skills and self-awareness to take varying approaches with a dynamic set of stakeholders (e.g., expert model vs. facilitative model)
- Analytical mindset, but also creativity to seek, encourage and find non-traditional approaches that have historically “boxed-in” procurement.
- A proven track record of delivering large savings.
