The role will also be a pivotal member of the procurement leadership at Fire and Emergency that will help shape our future.Ngā kawenga matua | Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the people and technical leadership of the Sourcing team.
- Leading the development of sourcing strategies for strategic, large or complex sourcing projects.
- Undertaking the planning and scheduling of strategic, large or complex sourcing projects.
- Undertaking and delivering key strategic, large or complex sourcing projects.
- Providing technical oversight and guidance to sourcing team personnel in the management of strategic, large or complex sourcing projects.
- Providing expert sourcing input into the Manager Capability and Practice lead development of Fire and Emergency procurement process and practice.
- Prepare papers, including sourcing strategies and evaluation reports.
- Lead sourcing innovation working closely with the Manager Capability and Practice, Procurement Business Partners, Head of Procurement and Business Group leadership teams.
- Participate as a member of the Procurement Directorate Leadership Team and contribute to the ongoing development and effectiveness of the Directorate and the Finance and Business Operations Branch.
- Contribute to the overall leadership of the Procurement Directorate and the Finance and Business Operations Branch.
- Manage and mentor the team so they are empowered to make decisions, while consulting on issues that need wider consideration.
- Meet all reporting requirements for levy activities, accurately and on time.
Ngā whakaritenga matua | Key Requirements
- Strong technical procurement experience (10+ years), including leading and managing strategic, complex and high value sourcing projects.
- Significant people leadership experience within procurement sourcing.
- Knowledge and practical experience in the provision of procurement advice to stakeholders.
- Understanding of risk management in a procurement context e.g. Health & Safety.
- A sound understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.
- Well-developed analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Advanced experience in managing diverse internal and external relationships.
