**He angitūtanga**: About the Role
We need a Principal Advisor Policy & Implementation to work closely with others and lead projects/initiatives from design to implementation. You will guide and mentor Advisors and Senior Advisors to deliver successfully as a team.
Your mahi will be varied, using your skills and experience in the following areas:

- Working across the business and with other agencies to lead key operational policy work
- Developing and implementing service approaches, funding conditions, and assessment frameworks; and guidelines that support internal and external audiences to understand policies and processesProviding advice to the business to navigate ambiguity in funding compliance
- Supporting policy agencies on the drafting of policy and associated advice to Minister

- Tertiary education sector experience is desirable but not essential
- Awesome collaboration skills, someone who will thrive in a busy and tight knit team
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are a must
- Excellent written skills and experience writing for a range of audiences and technical content
- Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels
- Ability to identify risks and develop mitigations or action plans
- Skilled at being across multiple initiatives and scanning the horizon for future changes, risks and opportunities
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity, and a flexible mindset that embraces change
- Ability to coach and mentor advisors to build capability and achieve great outcomes
- Commitment to building your cultural competencies and deepening your understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

The salary range for this position starts from $121,148 up to $142,527+ depending on demonstrable skills and experience
