The Downer Greenspaces team in Wellington have a reputation built through having great people, access to first class plant and equipment along with leading edge technology that allow us to deliver to the highest standards across New Zealand.

Our teams are professional, focused on delivery of best practice on Parks Maintenance/Horticulture services to our clients and the members of the public.

We are looking for a Gardener/Cemetery Technician with second-to-none customer service skills. You will often liaise with the public, so it is important to have a cheerful nature, enjoy talking to people and have a positive attitude. Your tasks will include:

- Maintaining grounds including gardens, turf, Litter and hard surfaces
- Preparing, attending and reinstating plots for body and ash burials
- Occasionally working Saturday's as requiredWorking within the wider team to assist where needed.

**Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills**
- Integrity is everything in this role. You must have demonstrated pride in your work and in your personal presentation; as well as the ability to gain confidence and trust in those you work with
- A high standard of workmanship is essential. Experience in Parks and Reserves grounds maintenance is preferred
- Experience in interment burial operations preferred
- You need to have a full class 1 drivers' licence and a Tracks endorsement is desirable
- Be physically fit, punctual, reliable, responsible and self-motivated
- Have good communication skills and ability to work as a team
- Have a strong focus on safety and qualityHave a passion to deliver excellence that is customer focused
