**Mō VOYCE | About VOYCE** **Whakarongo Mai**

VOYCE - Whakarongo Mai (VWM) is an independent national organisation that provides advocacy services and connects tamariki and rangatahi who have been or are in care. It was co-designed by and for children and young people with care experience who wanted to talk to someone outside the care system when they felt unsure, unheard and didn’t know what was happening or they wanted to have a say in their lives. VOYCE - Whakarongo Mai has five pou which were developed with rangatahi:
***Whakamana****:

- **Advocate with tamariki and rangatahi in care. We listen, help them get the information they need, support them to express their views and help them to understand any decisions that may impact them.

**Tūhono****:

- **We organise events to help create meaningful connections with other care experienced young people in their communities.

**Whakatairanga****:

- **We promote the collective voice of children and young people in care. We represent their collective rights and views to influence the wider system.

**Whai Pukenga****:

- **We support tamariki and rangatahi to develop practical skills, so they can build a positive life for themselves

**Rangatiratanga****:

- **We build leadership among tamariki and rangatahi in care. This includes providing mentors, employing rangatahi and involving them in governance.

**Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role**

As a member of the executive leadership team, the Business Manager is responsible for overseeing VOYCE’s business delivery and national growth strategy, ensuring all outputs are delivered on time and within budget, meeting financial, compliance and contractual deliverables.

Managing a small team and working closely with an accountant, the role offers significant scope and variety. Although the main emphasis of the role is on financial and contract management, the role will also provide strategic policy, process and procedural guidance to meet the evolving service delivery needs and compliance of the organisation.

This role would ideally be located in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, however other locations will be considered.

There will be some travel in this role, including over night stays to attend wānanga in Auckland and hui with government in Wellington.

You will be a collaborative and influential individual who can think ahead to future proof business planning and financial forecasting. As a strategic thinker you will be confident at presenting compelling business cases where you can draw upon your not-for-profit expertise and financial acumen.

- The successful applicant will offer the following attributes:_
- Tertiary qualification in Business or Finance Management or relevant field
- A strategic thinker with 5+ years relevant experience in leadership or business management roles
- Proven experience in financial forecasting and management
- Demonstrated knowledge of government procurement processes and contract management
- Experience working within not-for-profit and/or social services highly desirable
