The Corporate and Shared Service (CSS) directorate sits within Te Tai Ōhanga - The Treasury and plays a lead role in supporting the vision of multiple state sector agencies including the Treasury, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC), the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and the Climate Change Commission.
Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
We are looking for a Team Leader - Infrastructure Technology (Infrastructure, Network & Cloud) to join our experienced I&T team based within CSS. This role will focus on driving best practices, BAU & Project support, innovation, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure & cloud services on which our people rely. The primary for this would be ensuring the services we provide are secure, compliant, and offering optimal performance.
In this role you will head up the Technology Infrastructure team (around 10 people), tools and processes to ensure the Team provides resilient, reliable, and modernised IT services and systems to all central agency customers. A major component of this role is working with the Technology Manager to deliver a customer centric Technology strategy, focusing on services that enable our customers to work more efficiently, from anywhere, at any time and ensuring they receive the best experience.

- Be responsible for a resilient, reliable, and modernised IT services and systems;
- Monitor then manage the quality of service and advice the team provides;
- Provide leadership and guidance to the engineers within the team;
- Guide and support the team members in their roles to develop their skills and capabilities;
- Resource manage the team covering both BAU and Project support;
- Be passionate about the quality of the services we provide and be keen to help drive our service offering into the future.

We are committed to employing people, with a wide range of academic, cultural and social backgrounds and experiences, who represent the New Zealand community we serve. The specific experience, skills, and qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:

- Relevant industry certifications;
- 1-3 years leading a technology team;
- Strong experience with the Microsoft cloud environment and infrastructure (eg Active Directory, Azure, O365);
- Experience coaching and inspiring a team to constantly achieve;
- Experience with enterprise storage systems & storage area networks;
- Experience/Knowledge in network administration and support (switching, routing, security);
- Strong technical aptitude and demonstrated skill in performing technical problem determination and analysis;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Well organised and structured individual.
