About the role
We are looking for a Team Leader Projects in the Assessment & Moderation business unit.
This position is permanent, full-time and Wellington based. NZQA also has a Flexible Working Policy.
The Assessment & Moderation business unit is responsible for the quality assurance of internal assessment that takes place in schools and tertiary providers for credit towards national certificates.
The role of the Team Leader Projects is to lead Assessor Support provided to schools and to lead a team of Editors and Project Coordinators.

**In this role, you will**:

- Manage the Assessor Support programme
- Manage the production of all assessment resources produced by the business unit
- Oversee the quality assurance of assessment resources such as exemplars and clarifications
- Lead the development of online learning material
- Lead and manage the Assessor Practice Tool as the Product Owner
- Lead and manage all online content, including our pages on the NZQA website
- Report on the engagement and levels of satisfaction for Assessor Support
- Provide advice and guidance on assessment and quality of internal assessment
- Have an opportunity to be involved in the review of achievement standards
- Deputise for the Manager as required.

You must understand the principles of standards-based assessment and have a working knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum, the New Zealand Qualifications Framework and the NCEA.
You must have recognised teaching and assessment expertise in New Zealand. You should also have recent experience with moderation of assessment judgements in a school setting and online learning.
Skills and experience

**The role requires skills and experience in**:

- Management of people in a high performing team environment
- National or regional creditability as an educational professional
- Experience in public sector management, including online learning
- Close links with other business units
- Ability to follow policies and procedures.
