This Quality Manager role is based at our manufacturing site in Wiri and forms part of the manufacturing leadership team, providing leadership and improvement of standards in the areas of food safety and quality.

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

- Collate and report quality performance and collaborate with Manufacturing to prioritise and drive improvement plans.
- Identify Food Safety and Quality training requirements, support the development of training material, deliver training, and maintain training records.
- Facilitate problem solving for quality issues, collaborate with other functions, coach the problem-solving process to ensure effective countermeasures are put in place to prevent reoccurrence.
- Lead by example through completion of all HS&E activity, and a zero tolerance for unsafe conditions and behaviours.
- Train and build Food Safety and Quality capability within the team.
- Lead or sponsor change initiatives, including trials, from evolution/efficiency identification through to project delivery via internal governance and controls.
- Support and achieve Opal’s sustainability goals, including compliance to ISO14001.

Specifically for this role, we expect you will have;
- Tertiary qualification, Quality related preferred.
- Experience in complex manufacturing environments.
- Experience with internal and external compliance audits.
- Ability to implement and manage to Sage Quality Foods (SQF) standards.
- Well spoken, able to present to all levels in both formal and informal settings with a proven ability to build relationships, effectively communicate and gain credibility at all levels.
- In depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing and proven ability to use these tools and structures to deliver sustainable improvement.
