**The Role / Person**

The Timaru District Council are on the lookout for a Building Control Officer who can hit the ground running and ensure we meet our obligations under the Building Act.

As a Building Control Officer, you will ensure the requirements and functions of the Building Act 2004 are implemented and managed efficiently, effectively and appropriately. We need an individual who has, or is working towards gaining, the necessary qualifications and competencies to process and/or inspect building consents.

You'll bring not only a thorough understanding of the building code and industry standards, but also exceptional customer-focused skills. Most importantly we are after someone who is used to managing tight timeframes, quick off the mark and enjoys a bit of banter amongst the team.

**The Organisation**
