**This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a highly-skilled policy professional to join our Natural Resources team. Joining our team will see you working in a caring and collaborative team environment, advancing your skills and career, while shaping a better tomorrow for all New Zealanders.**

**Mo m tou | About Us**

At Te Tai Ohanga The Treasury we're creating a better future for New Zealand and everyone who calls our amazing country home. **Korero mo te turanga | About the Role**

We're looking for an enthusiastic and talented professional to work on the Treasury's responsibilities under the Crown Forests Assets Act (CFAA), and progress priority work within the Natural Resource's team.

One important aspect of the role is leading and contributing to advice relating to the Treasury's responsibilities under the CFAA. Working closely with a range of government agencies, including the Department of Conservation and Land Information New Zealand, you'll provide advice to the Minister of Finance and other ministers to assist them to carry out their statutory functions, including the cancellation or variation of public access easements or covenants in forests that have been returned to iwi as part of Treaty settlements. That work will include engagement with stakeholders and Iwi, progressing necessary public consultation, reviewing submissions and carrying out research.

In addition to the work on the CFAA, you will also work on priority projects in the Natural Resources team and support its work more generally. The Natural Resources team covers economic and financial policy matters relating to the environment, conservation, primary industries, and land information.

The team leads the Treasury's economic and financial policy advice across a broad range of areas, with a focus on delivering the government's economic strategy and fiscal sustainability objectives. There is plenty of scope to deliver these outcomes given the responsibilities of our agencies which include the Department of Conservation, the Ministry for Primary Industries and the Ministry for the Environment.
