New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

Lead the way.
We are the Financial Markets Authority - Te Mana Tātai Hokohoko
Here's your opportunity to put your banking expertise and energy into a leadership role that makes a meaningful impact on a significant number of consumers. We believe all New Zealanders deserve to be treated fairly by the financial services sector and it is important that consumers get the financial products and services they need throughout their life, when they need them, and have trust and confidence these will do what they should.
Join us at this exciting time as our mandate expands. This is as a result of the new Conduct of Financial Institutions regime (CoFI) which introduces a new regulatory regime to ensure registered banks, licensed insurers and licensed non-bank deposit takers comply with the fair conduct principle when providing relevant services to consumers. This presents a unique opportunity for you as a proven leader to ensure our market engagement, guidance and approach delivers regulatory outcomes that make the intended difference. Are you a banking expert and proven leader with a regulatory, legal or CA background?
So what's it like to work at the FMA?
It's purposeful. Our mission is to create a fair and transparent financial sector that serves all New Zealanders. We are looking for people with a strong sense of collaboration and fair play.
It's stimulating. We need to be thinkers and initiators. We're looking for team players with the drive, skills, intellect and forward thinking to stay ahead in this fast-moving sector.
It's supportive. We have a culture that allows everyone to bring their best selves to work. We value people with ambition, open-mindedness and a strong orientation towards helping others.

**We also have a fresh focus**: to have a positive impact on the lives of all New Zealanders. We're looking to achieve great things and we need great people on board with leadership opportunities also being advertised in Financial Advice and Insurance. For this particular opportunity, you'll need to bring credibility in the banking sector, a market engagement perspective and working knowledge of regulation and effective governance.
By fostering fair, efficient and transparent financial markets - our role (and yours) is to ensure better outcomes for consumers and the New Zealand economy. Will you join us?
A great place to work. With great work to do.
