New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

We are New Zealand's Financial Markets Authority - Te Mana Tātai Hokohoko.

Our new role has grown into something pretty exciting. Now let's talk about yours.

We have a unique opportunity for you to combine your senior leadership and banking, insurance and/or financial advice experience to play your part in creating a brighter future for consumers and New Zealand financial markets.

What are we doing and why?

We are growing and getting ready to deliver on our significant remit expansion. With our clear focus and more amazing people on the team, we'll achieve our goal of becoming a world-leading conduct regulator. In addition to the recent reforms in the regulation of financial advice, the Government has now passed legislation for banks, insurers and non-bank deposit takers to be licensed by the FMA in relation to their general conduct. With this and our collective drive towards outcome focused regulation, you'll have the opportunity to shape and influence better and fairer outcomes for all New Zealanders.

So, what's it like to work at the FMA?

It's purposeful. Our mission is to create a fair and transparent financial sector that serves all New Zealanders. We are looking for people with a strong sense of collaboration and fair play.

It's stimulating. We need to be thinkers and initiators. We're looking for our Director to bring relevant sector knowledge with outcome-focused regulatory experience. This will include conduct expertise and an awareness of prudential regulation.

It's supportive. We have a culture that allows everyone to bring their best selves to work. We value people with open minds, an appetite for ongoing learning and a strong orientation towards collaborative working.
