Oji Fibre Solutions Paper Bag is one of New Zealand's leading manufacturers and suppliers of packaging solutions to a wide range of industries throughout the country. Essentially, we design and produce multi-wall bags for the Dairy, Cement, Flour and Sugar industries throughout the country and into offshore markets. One of only two Paper Bag plants in New Zealand, this manufacturing industry is specialised with unique machines and equipment, that are a mix of old and new that are highly detailed.

We are now seeking a motivated and proactive person, who is interested in joining our high-speed manufacturing environment as an Apprentice Maintenance Fitter. Opportunities like these don’t come up often, to join and learn from an experienced Engineering team, where you will learn various engineering practices and techniques, trouble shooting and problem-solving that is necessary in a FCG manufacturing environment.
- You will be part of the Maintenance Engineering team that is responsible for the day to day maintenance and reliability of the production machinery.
- Ongoing improvements and problem-solving to ensure the equipment is at optimal output. This includes maintaining product quality standards, machine availability to meet production schedules and machine performance efficiencies.
- You must have a passion for Engineering, be a “go getter” who is eager to learn and contribute to the team, be focussed on quality and safety, possess good communication skills and be willing to get your hands dirty.
- We are looking for an individual who can work with a team, is respectful, hardworking, has a sense of humour and a good grasp of common sense.
- This role is working on the Day Shift; however, from time to time, you must be flexible in working afternoon or night shifts when this arises.
