Are you a dynamic and passionate library leader with a focus on literacy, learning and community connection? We are looking for an exceptional person to join our team in the pivotal role of Programmes & Learning Manager.

Christchurch City Libraries is New Zealand's second largest public library system. Highly valued by the community, the library enjoys a reputation for innovation and excellence. Servicing Ōtautahi Christchurch and Banks Peninsula Te Pataka o Rakaihautū, our network includes 20 libraries, a mobile library service and a comprehensive offering of resources.

Reporting to the Head of Libraries and Information, you will:

- Manage a team of 8 direct, and 20 indirect reports
- Lead, plan and co-ordinate the development of our public learning programmes, events and exhibitions
- Lead the development of professional learning for staff
- Develop the annual promotions schedule of activity and manage the marketing budget for Libraries
- Champion the use of new and emerging technologies in the delivery of library programmes, exhibitions and events

Our ideal applicant will:

- Hold a tertiary qualification in education, library or another relevant discipline
- Have proven management and leadership experience
- Be committed to supporting the Library to meet its obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Ngā Aho, the library's bicultural plan
- Have significant experience in, and understanding of, modern learning practice and pedagogy
- Have proven experience in establishing successful partnerships
- Have a strong understanding of the use of innovative digital and creative technologies in the context of public programmes and education
