We have a great opportunity for a Manager of Strategy and Accountability to join our Joint Directors'-General Office supporting both the GCSB and NZSIS.

The Manager, Strategy and Accountability provides thought leadership to joint strategy and will also have responsibility for NZSIS and GCSB's ministerial services, Official Information Act and Privacy Act functions.

**About the role**:
The Manager, Strategy and Accountability will be expected to work with various directorates of both organisations and lead discussions on refreshing and developing strategic documents. You will also lead or contribute to work around future planning for investment for the New Zealand Intelligence Community (NZIC) which includes the agencies and the National Security Group, DPMC. This includes the provision of a medium and longer-term investment plan and supporting the agencies with the development of major business cases.

**About you**:
This role will require you to draw on your excellent relationship building skills to ensure that GCSB and NZSIS strategic intent, with respect to stakeholder engagement, is clearly understood and reflected in planning and engagement activities.

You will be a strong conceptual thinker and problem solver with the following skills and experience:

- Substantial experience in a similar role with another complex New Zealand public sector agency
- Recognised as a senior policy expert with substantial experience in policy development, analysis and advice within the public sector
- Able to demonstrate a strong appreciation of the role of officials when providing advice to Ministers
- Proven leadership skills within teams or professional groups

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.
