Mō te tūnga | About the role
As our Deputy Director Office of the Chief Executive, you'll be joining an extraordinary team who provide direct high level strategic, operational and governance advice to the Chief Executive and the Senior Leadership Team. Come join us, your mahi will be instrumental in cultivating positive change throughout Oranga Tamariki.
You will be a natural leader able to inspire and through you own passion build, develop and lead a high performing team. Outside of your own team you will implement organisational shifts, and can bring teams, individuals and partners along on the journey of change. You will play a key role in supporting the Senior Leadership Team to build a supportive organisational culture and model behaviours and values of Oranga Tamariki.
Delivering in this role will require the managing the day-to-day operations of the Chief Executive's Office. This is fast-paced environment that is characterised by complexity, sensitivity, tight timelines and competing priorities. You will need a deep understanding of processes and systems to ensure high quality work is delivered on time.
Your relationship management experience will be required to collaborate across the Office of the CE, with DCE's and managers across the organisation. You will provide regular communication to and from the Office of the CE and on occasion you will be required provide cover for the Director of the Office of Chief Executive.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
**Key requirements of the role include**:
- Ideally you will have experience operating at a tier 3 level, and/or have experience running a CE (or DCE) Office in government.
- Proven ability to provide high-level, detailed, and critical analysis, research, reporting and risk management to inform strategic decision making on sensitive and complex matters
- Significant experience in leading, collaborating and contributing to the transformation of governance structures, strategies, policies and frameworks
- Experience and understanding of Public Sector and the Machinery of Government
- Ability to cultivate and manage key relationships with Minister's Offices, other agencies and throughout Oranga Tamariki
- Significant relationship management experience, with a track record of working collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
