**Job Description**:
We are currently seeking an experienced and results driven Equipment Manager to join our team in Auckland. Reporting to the Group Equipment Manager, this role carries significant responsibility for achieving outstanding operational performance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement Your leadership will be instrumental in the development of the Fiji Equipment team, ensuring effective management of equipment and operational processes for NPDL and NPDL Agency customer containers. With your expertise, you will play a crucial role in improving the performance of Pacific Island (PI) agents in Equipment operations.

In this role, you will focus on enhancing data and reporting accuracy to facilitate improved forward planning processes. Customer satisfaction is paramount, and you will diligently work to meet their equipment needs by coordinating supply with internal and external stakeholders. To achieve this, you will implement robust systems to measure and enhance service levels for key customers. As an advocate of continuous improvement, you will actively identify and eliminate waste and process gaps to instil a culture of excellence within the team. Additionally, you will drive cost leadership by establishing proper controls and management systems, minimizing expenses, and maximizing recoveries.

**What you will be doing**:

- Spearheading timely system updates for all PI locations, ensuring data integrity and NPDL's track and trace support.
- Collaborating with NPDL’s NZ Equipment team to optimize fleet size and utilization, enhancing efficiency.
- Fostering transparency and urgency around long dwell containers through close collaboration with NPDL teams and agents.
- Maintaining oversight of vendor performance, aligning targets with business strategies for exceptional service and favorable financial outcomes.
- Implementing comprehensive monthly reports on key performance indicators for Pacific Islands, covering inventory levels, optimal inventories, cost per carrying, and more.
- Accountable for budgets, including repositioning, storage, transport, disbursement accounts, and biosecurity.
- Actively participating in effective planning processes across NPDL divisions.
- Devising contingency scenarios to adapt to sudden changes in demand and supply, minimizing costs.
- Driving cost leadership through proper controls and management systems.
- Ensuring adherence to contractual agreements for Equipment/Logistics management services provided to 3rd party shipping lines.
- Defining, implementing, and reporting on individual KPIs for each shipping line, covering equipment inventory levels, movements, cost allocation, and monthly agency disbursements.

- Over a decade of valuable experience in an Equipment Manager role, showcasing a rich background in equipment control. Previous experience working with the Pacific Islands is beneficial.
- Seasoned leadership expertise, with the ability to inspire and influence others positively.
- Effectively managing change in the workplace including developing robust systems and processes for data integrity and planning.
- Strong critical thinking skills, being a quick learner, and adeptly prioritizing work.
- Proficiency with numbers and costs is a valuable asset that enables effective financial analysis and decision-making.
- Unwavering integrity and exceptional work ethics, with a strong commitment to implementing effective controls.
- A results-oriented mindset, thriving on challenges, and excelling under pressure.
- Proven track record of exemplary communication skills, adept at delivering clear and appropriate messages across various organizational levels and geographical locations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving acumen, adept at identifying root causes and formulating effective corrective actions.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, leveraging these tools for enhanced productivity.
