SkyCity Theatre is an integral part of SkyCity's 'home of world-class entertainment' and attracts visitors through the busy event schedule which includes an exciting variety of local and international shows, events and corporate functions throughout the year.

Reporting to the AV Technical Manager, the Senior Venue Technician provides operational support with venue duties, production assistance and maintenance of the venue and equipment to ensure the effective delivery of performances and events at SkyCity Theatre. Being the lead contact for visiting artists, clients and stakeholders assisting with all aspects of production, technical duties, managing the fly system, general stage work, and potentially operating lighting and sound as required.

You may also be required to use your skills to assist colleagues and customers across other SkyCity venues as required, and there is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the New Zealand International Convention Centre team in the future.

To be successful for this position you will have an excellent understanding of all aspects of theatre, staging, production, planning, lighting, audio visual, and a strong understanding of flying systems and rigging as well as a having a customer focused approach.

This is a part time role (25 hours per week) and does require flexibility in terms of being available for evenings and weekend work.
